Finished Project: We Are Knitters Calypso Blanket
It is a well joked about fact that my favourite way to take a break from knitting for Button and Blue is by knitting. But I love getting stuck into a new project; something completely different with new skills to learn.
I hadn’t ever knitted a blanket before but with my continuing project of making our rented home feel more like a home, I thought a blanket would add a touch of handmade, the pale pink working perfectly with my current colour palette.
I am so pleased with this blanket. It fits perfectly in our home and seeing it draped over a chair or being used by one of my kids brings me quite a lot of joy (probably too much).
Included in the kit:
3 skeins of Pima Cotton (100g)
5mm / UK 6 /US 8 knitting needles
Cotton label to sew on at the end.
And this little guy was delighted to have a new box to play in..
I loved working this diamond stitch pattern. It’s just enough to have to concentrate on but easy enough to memorise for knitting out and about. The project lived in my bag over the summer and accompanied me from Brighton, to Dorset, to Devon and back again and I loved sneaking in a few rows wherever possible; on the beach, in the garden, in the pub, in the car, all over the place.
Here is my finished blanket!
